Reno 911!

RENO 911!
(The Biggest Little City in the World)

This is, I was going to say one of my favorite shows, but honestly it is my FAVORITE show!!  I have watched every episode of Reno 911! at least twelve times. I know that sounds like a lot but if you have ever see this show then I think that you will agree.... IT NEVER GETS OLD!! It is completely genius!

The show was created by three of the lead actors Thomas Lennon, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Robert Ben Garant.
Reno 911! Is basically a spoof on COPS. It ran from 2003 to 2009 and had one movie. Comedy Central produced the show and you can still find re-runs almost daily.

Most of the show is improved but there is a script and a story line behind most of the episodes. The characters are well developed over the six year run and the chemistry between them only grows stronger. There were a few casting changes over the course of the shows run including the introduction of Deputy Cherisha Kimball who arrived in season 3 and stayed till season 5; in season six, Officers Johnson, Garcia, and Kimball were replaced with Officers Declan and Rizzo.

A full character description for each cast member can be found Here
But of course you can't mention Reno 911! without talking about Terrrrriiiiiii (in a singing voice)
One of the most infamous disruptions to the streets of Reno. Terri and the other convicts (including some of the main cast members dressed up (or down) in crazy blurred out costumes) are integral parts of the show.

Enjoy a few videos and if you get the chance PLEASE check out the wonder that is Reno 911!

Ok last one I promise ;)

You can find Reno 911! on DVD, Netflix, Youtube, Hulu Plus and at

Stargate SG-1

It's finally here! The Stargate SG-1 post has arrived.

Let's begin as we always do with a quick history lesson about the show.

The original SG Team
Based off of the 1994 Stargate film, the ten season series (which ran longer than the X-Files), centers around a military team that uses a device known as a "Stargate" to travel from one planet to another all across the galaxy. The missions of the SG teams are unknown to the Earth population. The team is led by the hysterical, manly and sexy Colonel Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson), then there is his number two, Major Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping). Sam is a scientist by nature but also a skilled military expert as well as the love interest for Colonel O'Neill. Teal'c (Christopher Judge) is the reformed Jaffa, one of the Goa'uld's protectors. He joins the SG team in order to gain freedom not only for himself but for his people. The final member (of the original team) is Dr. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks). Daniel is the brilliant Egyptologist who is constantly marveled by the wonders that space has to offer.

Vala and Daniel

The Team later adds and subtracts characters. O'Neill leaves after season 8 and Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell becomes the new leader of the SG team. Seasons 8-10 also introduce use to the wise cracking and flirty Vala Mal Doran (Claudia Black). Vala and Daniel have a thing ;)

The show ran from 1997 to 2007 and was a hit across the globe. Since the end of the series Scifi conventions have been a great way for the show to live on. Not to mention the two films that were released.
Teal'c

Two spinoffs were created, the exciting Stargate Atlantis and the "not even close to the original" Stargate Universe.

Atlantis was a hit, needless to say, Universe was not.

The series is one of the best for anyone who loves Scifi, actions, comedy and a bit of romance. It's funny really, I would rank this show as one of my top five favorite television shows, but it is so difficult to write about. It's silly but there are so many amazing qualities about this show that I can hardly put them into words.

It you are new to Scifi, then this is the show for you. You will get just the right amount of Scifi to understand what is happening and not too much to become overwhelmed. It is an amazing show and I would recommend it to any and everyone!

Please Please Please take a chance on Stargate SG-1, I promise you won't be sorry! :)

P.S. Tea'c says "indeed" A LOT! Here is a funny video compilation

Psych

At last the long awaited Psych blog post! I know i've been MIA for a while, school and work have really kept me busy lately, but i'm back and ready to blog you till kingdom come! So let's get to it :)

Psych is an amazing hour long Detective sitcom (now on its 6th season) about a man named Shawn Spencer and his best friend/sidekick Burton "Gus" Guster and their work as crime consultants for the Santa Barbara Police Department. Shawn uses his observation abilities, taught to him by his Dad (Henry Spencer, a former detective), in order to convince everyone that his is a psychic detective.

The show is very well written and perfectly cast. It is great for people of all ages. Adults and children will be able to watch. The plots and the script are suitable for kids and intelligent enough for adults to enjoy.

The show is really funny and has great detective "who done it" plots. Shawn and Gus are hysterical together, and they are rather attractive if I may say so! Below are a trailer and clip for the show and links to where you can view.

To watch go to:
or go to Netflix

We Will Fight War...With The Army of PEACE!

Hey everyone, I know that this week (seeing as I missed last week) was supposed to be about Psych. Well it's not. I know that there has been a lot of talk about the Kony2012 video and mission that recently went viral and I would like to say that regardless of whether or not you believe in this specific mission, helping humans in need is a fundamental part of being human. Whatever the cause may be, if your participation will allow even one human to be free, then it is the right thing to do.

Over the years, I have learned a lot about the plight in other countries, and spoken with those who have overcome these devastating events. Wouldn't you want your voice to be heard if you were the one in need?

I know this isn't the post that you were expecting, but I feel very strongly about these issues and I think that the Kony2012 movement has allowed people to realize that one person can change everything. And that one million people can change the world.

Below are websites to some organizations that I have advocated for years and some that I have recently discovered and hope to share the information with as many people as possible.

People need to know what is going on in the world. Hunger, sex trafficking, abduction, murder, torture, rape. These are atrocities against Humanity, and they can be STOPPED.

Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey is a period drama centering around the Aristocratic Crawely Family. Created by Julian Fellows, Downton Abbey has become one of the most critically acclaimed series's on television. The show is featured in America on PBS and is part of the Masterpiece Collection.
The show follows the lives of the aristocrats and the servants who run Downton.

With the conclusion of the second season, Downton Abbey has become even more popular than ever. People are dying to find out what will happen next. There are only a few episodes per season due to the production quality that goes into each episode. The show is truly filmed as though it is the most high budgeted film that I have ever viewed. It is clear that all who are involved with this series are dedicated to it 100%, and that price is no issue.

This wouldn't be a worthy review without mentioning the costumes! They are extraordinary! The first season was set during 1912 and the second ended with the ringing of the bells for the new year of 1920. As you can imagine, the costumes are enchanting and it is such a treat for the viewer to be able to see the transformation of dress.

Mary and Matthew
But the real pull of Downton Abbey is the story. With such an established cast, there is never a lack of a story line. Mary and Matthew, Bates and Anna, Downton's new heir, World War I, The Titanic, Death, Lust, Duty, the evil O'Brian and her partner in crime Thomas the footman. The list could go on forever (and I hope it does). The show is perfect for all ages and all people. If you have ever has an interest in period pieces, then you are in luck because they have created a television series just for you! This series is without a doubt one of the best shows on television, and I urge you to take a chance on Downton Abbey. Watch an episode or two and soon you will be going mad with anticipation for the next season like the rest of us Downton followers.
Mr. Bates and Anna

I will leave you with a few video clips... Enjoy!

Oh yeah, did I mention that Dame Maggie Smith is in this show...... because she flipping is!! And she has the funniest lines!

True Blood

What a series! True Blood was created by Alan Ball and is based off of Charlaine Harris's The Southern Vampire Mysteries book series.
The show centers around a young woman named Sookie Stackhouse and her involvement with Vampires, who have recently announced their existence to the world. With the discovery that Vampires have and are roaming the Earth, the lives of many quickly begin to change.
Religious cults, protests, Fang Bangers and the discovery of other mythical creatures begin to plague the small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana where the story takes place. Running since 2008, the hit HBO Television series has developed a cult following who are enamoured by the sexy and mysterious lives of the Bon Temps citizens.

The production quality of the series is superb. Then again it is an HBO series, what else did we expect. The five season long, and running series features an incredible cast: Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer (the two are married in real life and met on the set of the show!), Alexander Skarsgard, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Nelsan Ellis, Carrie Preston, Kristin Bauer, Deborah Ann Woll and many others have created not only a cast of unique and compelling characters but have dawned a new age. The age of the sexy Vampire.

Eric Northman, Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton
I will warn you, the show is graphic and does not shy away from the use of blood and sex.
It is not suitable for children under 17. But if you are over that age, then what the hell are you waiting for! Truly an extraordinary series, cast and crew. True Blood is one of half of the populations top shows, and will most likely be yours as well.
I know I didn't mention that much about the story, that is because most of the story is a mystery. There are twists and turns and if I tell you everything, then it will just give it all away. Granted it won't ruin it for you because this show is incredible whether you know the plot or not. Please take a chance on True Blood. At least watch the first few episodes. If you like sex, adventure, love, comedy, mystery, Vampires, magic and sit at the edge of your chair excitement, then True Blood is for you.

The Nanny

The Nanny was the creative baby of Fran Drescher and her then husband Peter Marc Jacobson. The concept of the hysterical 6 seasons is that a Jewish sassy gal from Queens, New York, journeys over the bridge to Manhattan and becomes the nanny for a wealthy widowed Broadway Producer and his three children.

This really sums it up...

I have been watching and re-watching this show for years. It never gets old and is never lacking in everything that makes a sitcom wonderful. The majority of the show is centered around Fran and Maxwell's undefined romance, the flirting, the unexpected kisses and the jealously... Gee just talking about it makes me want to watch an episode right now.
Of course you can't forget the supporting cast, featuring Niles the Butler, and C.C. Babcock, Maxwells work partner (although she wishes it were more).

                                                            (Niles, Fran, C.C.)

The show was beautifully produced, perfectly written and cast by the Gods! It is a classic show that no matter your age or how many times you have seen it, it will never get old! (I can't stress that point enough)
I know that this post is not very long, but honestly, if you watch one episode of this show, you will be hooked. I hope that you take a chance on The Nanny and love it as much as I do!

If you are interested in watching The Nanny, episodes are available on Youtube:

Battlestar Galactica

"So say we all!"

After the success of the Original Battlestar Galactic in 1978, Ronald D. Moore decided to re-vamp the show and bring it back. Airing first as a three hour long miniseries, Battlestar eventually ran for four seasons from 2004-2009.

The premise of the show is that there are twelve planets inhabited by humans. The planets are known as Colonies. They include: Aerilon, Aquaria, Canceron, Caprica, Gemenon, Leonis, Libran, Picon, Sagittaron, Scorpia, Tauron, and Virgon. In the 2004 series, only five of the twelve are focused upon.

The story goes that people from the Colonies developed sentient robots known as Cylons. The Cylons were built to serve the Colonies and make their lives easier. As time passed the Cylons began to understand that they were being "taken advantage of" and they rebelled against the Colonials. This rebellion is known as the First Cylon War. Eventually, the Cylons leave the Colonies and vanish...Until 40 years later when they return with a vengeance. What follows are the glorious four seasons of Battlestar Galactica.

The cast is outstanding. Each actor truly dove into the mind of his or her character and made him/her real. The actors include: Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, and Grace Park.

While I would love to go though each season and give you a detailed review I think that we all know that that is rather unlikely. I mean come on.... its four seasons long! What I will tell you is that each episode will have you on the edge of your seat flipping the "frak" out because you can't believe how awesome this show is! The production quality of this show is one that is hard to beat. Honestly, each episode is filmed as though it is a high end budgeted movie.

Your brain will explode with questions and you will begin to tell everyone you meet about the evil Cylons, Adama and Roslin, the mystery of Starbuck and the haunting unknown of the Final FIVE!

My one negative comment about the show is that in the final episode they leave a few things to your imagination. I personally like it when every question is answered and I am left with a fully satisfied bran, but that is just personal preference. Apart from that.... it is possibly the MOST KICK-ASS SHOW THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN!

Please Please Please watch Battlestar Galactica! I promise you that it is not your average Scifi series.
For Guys: there is sex, blood, action, drinking, smoking, more sex, and laughter!
For Girls: there is love, laughter, action, sex, interesting historical background information, babies, and mystery!

If this post sparked your interest in Battlestar Galactica you can find the episodes online on Netflix, Hulu, iTunes or Youtube.

Hulu:

The Miniseries and all 4 Seasons are available on Netflix!

This is the opening scene for the Miniseries.

Enjoy! SO SAY WE ALL! ;)

P.S. Oh yeah and the music is frakking amazing!

3rd Rock from the Sun

GOD do I love this show!!!
So here is the run down.

3rd Rock from the Sun aired in 1996 and ran until 2001. The brilliant stars of the show are John Lithgow, Kristen Johnston, French Stewart, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jane Curtin, Simbi Khali, and Wayne Knight.

Four aliens come to Earth in order to observe human behavior. Dick Solomon (Lithgow) is the High Commander of the wayward team, Sally (Johnston) is the Security Officer, Tommy (Gordon-Levitt) is the Informations Officer, and Harry (Stewart) is well..... he's Harry.
The four were only supposed to stay on the planet for a few weeks, but the mission gets extended when Dick falls for the lovely anthropology professor Dr. Mary Albright (Curtin).
The hilarity continues as Dick and the gang learn about human emotions and key human aspects of life such as Birthdays, Cultural Differences and Sex.

As you may know by now, I love this show! I have seen every episode and secretly wish that more will appear someday. The production of this show is fabulous. I love the set, the costumes, the script, and the cast. In truth, I have nothing bad to say about this show other than the fact that it has ended. I think that Lithgow is one of the best comedic actors to have ever graced television. He is the glue which holds the show together.
If you know me at all, then you know that I love a good love story! Dick and Mary are the perfect couple. He is "out of this world" and she is a boozy, smart woman in her prime who is looking for more than just a physical relationship.

The dynamic of the strict butt kicking woman, Sally, and Harry, the odd ball, is glorious. Harry's dimwittedness is never over played or over emphasized, but is given the perfect amount of punch lines and attention. And Sally's masculine facade is over shadowed by her exploration into the mind of a women. This is seen when Sally and Officer Don (Knight) unite to become a unlikely couple.

And of course where would we be without Tommy. The old man trapped in the human body of a teenager, lusting over volleyball players and learning the ways of high school "women". Gordon-Levitt did an amazing job at his young age and has grown up to be a Hotty!

Overall I would rank this as one of the best sitcoms. It will make you laugh, cry and then laugh again. If you haven't seen 3rd Rock from the Sun, please take a chance and explore the adventures of the Solomon's.

Episodes are available on Netflix, Hulu and Youtube
